Sunday, September 28th would have been Ava’s third birthday.

With special thanks to the Kleinburg Nursery of Vaughan Region, Emily’s House opened the memorial garden, in memory of Ava. In celebration of her short and strong life, friends and family gathered to lay the first stone in Ava’s Garden.

Planning this garden, bringing a small community together, and sharing Ava’s legacy has been part of the family’s bereavement process, as supported by our Spiritual/ Bereavement Care program. After a brief memorial tribute to a special child, butterflies and balloons were released to the sky, and Ava’s Garden became yet another place where new memories are made at Emily’s House, a project of the Philip Aziz Centre for Hospice Care (PAC).

Ava’s mom writes: “We know that Ava is smiling down and that her love will continue to grow in this very special garden named in her honour.”
